The Grassic Gibbon Centre is situated in Arbuthnott, in the very heart of the beautiful Mearns countryside, the spiritual home of the Scots novelist James Leslie Mitchell, better known by his pen name Lewis Grassic Gibbon.
The Boathouse Cafe has arguably one of the best sites in town overlooking Stonehaven's beautiful bay to the north and Doonie point to the south. From the patio, visitors can watch the dolphins, seals and the area's wonderful seabirds.
Our restaurant is light and airy and situated in a beautiful Nordic log building with views of the garden centre's plant area. Food is all freshly prepared to order and our speciality full breakfasts and scones are baked every morning.
