The Grassic Gibbon Centre is situated in Arbuthnott, in the very heart of the beautiful Mearns countryside, the spiritual home of the Scots novelist James Leslie Mitchell, better known by his pen name Lewis Grassic Gibbon.
The Boathouse Cafe has arguably one of the best sites in town overlooking Stonehaven's beautiful bay to the north and Doonie point to the south. From the patio, visitors can watch the dolphins, seals and the area's wonderful seabirds.
To enjoy the taste of our summer berries all year round pick to make your own jam and preserves or to freeze to incorporate into crumbles, pies and compotes. Closed for the Winter but give us a call in the Spring!
