The Lime Tree is a busy, multi-purpose venue housed in a former manse at the West End of Fort William. It houses an art gallery, meeting space, exhibition hall and small hotel and restaurant. The atmosphere is informal and lively, with masses of original artwork on show. Or you can just relax in front of the roaring fire in one of the lounge areas, or peruse the maps in the Map Room. The food is seriously fresh, seasonal and Scottish, cooked with care and skill.

Onion Squash Soup, Creme Fraiche, Pumpkin Seeds: "A very well made pureed soup, attractively presented."Roast Red Leg Partridge, Clapshot Tatties, Puree of Chervil Root, Jus: "A good hearty plateful, with the partridge taken off the bone and laid atop finely shredded cabbage, next to the clapshot, onions and root vegetables, with the puree of chervil root and jus swirled around." "The partridge was cooked perfectly to retain moisture, tenderness and flavour."
