The Manor House was built in 1780 as the principal residence of the Duke of Argyll's Oban estate. Of late Georgian architecture, great consideration has been given to preserve the elegance, charm and atmosphere of its past. The Manor House is particularly known for its beautifully restored dining room which has magnificent views over Oban Bay and the adjacent islands.

A peaceful country house retreat just a short stroll from the bustle of the ferry terminal in Oban. A quiet haven, using much local produce which is landed practically in view of the hotel.
Pot roasted Wood Pigeon, Braised Red Cabbage, Creamed Potatoes and Rosemary Jus: "Neat slices of wood pigeon on top of mashed potato and braised red cabbage, all presented as a circle on the middle of the plate." "The pigeon breast was quite tender and served slightly pink." "Very smooth mashed potato and tender braised red cabbage."
