Visit the most northerly brewery in the UK and sample its uniquely flavored ales.
Established by husband and wife team Sonny and Sylvia Priest in 1997, Valhalla Brewery takes its name from the celestial great hall of Nordic mythology where slain Viking warriors were revived with a horn of ale. Six fine ales are produced here, each with their own distinctive taste, name and title. These include Auld Rock, White Wife, Simmer Dim, Old Scatness, Sjolmet Stout and Island Bere. Learn about the different stages of the brewing process on a guided tour of the premises and witness everything from the mashing of the yeast to the packaging of the bottles.
