Arduaine Garden is a beautiful green oasis, which lies 20 miles south of Oban in Argyll and is managed by the National Trust for Scotland.
The south-facing Arduaine Garden enjoys the warming effects of the North Atlantic Drift on the Sound of Jura which results in fantastic floral displays, with many specifies hailing from Asia.
The garden features a renowned collection of rhododendrons as well as colourful azaleas and magnolias. Visitors can also enjoy bright Blue Tibetan poppies, Chatham Island forget-me-nots and giant Himalayan lilies, as well as palms and tree ferns, which add to the sense of the exotic.
The garden lies within the grounds of the former Arduaine House, now the Loch Melfort Hotel, which dates from 1896. It is an ideal base from which to explore this corner of Argyll.
