    Exhibition: St Kilda Hiort. A virtual perspective about this remote archipelago which tells the dramatic story of a remarkable people and their life style. The exhibition includes an interactive walk around Hirta with xbox control, the Row St Kilda boat Aurora, a Cleit built from stone, interactive tablets, 'Impressions of St Kilda' and 'St Kilda A Wildlife Mystery' in the cinema, original artefacts from St Kilda, a Lego table where you can build your own island, artists gallery with paintings of St Kilda and a wealth of information and photographs.

    Events: Regular film shows of the latest blockbuster releases, live music from worldwide performers, dance events from local and international groups, world renowned stand-up comedians and contemporary theatre.

    Restaurant : The restaurant is open daily from 9am serving freshly cooked meals all day, with gluten free and vegetarian options available, as well as delicious home baking.

    Shop: The Aros shop is the place to find inspiring ideas to suit all ages and pockets. From jewellery, fashion, home accessories, books, prints, greeting cards to gourmet foods.

    Children’s Play Areas: Indoor and outdoor play areas to keep younger guests entertained. The indoor playspace has a multilevel soft play structure, tube slide and ball pit. Outside there is a castle play structure with climbing, raised platforms and slide.

    Auditorium & Training/ Conference Room: We have spaces with capacities ranging from 10-180 people offering the ideal venue for parties, conferences, meetings, training events, receptions and performances. Our in-house caterers can provide food and drink for all occasions.

    Road Directions

    Once you cross the Skye Bridge continue north on the A87 road to Portree. Aros is the first building on the left hand side just before you reach the 30mph speed limit outside Portree.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre: After leaving the Portree Tourist Information Centre take the A87 road south, signposted for the Skye Bridge. Aros is the last building on the right as you leave Portree. Its is a 4 minute drive or a 20 minute walk. Getting there by rail: The nearest railway station is at Kyle, beside the Skye Bridge. You will then need to take a bus towards Portree. Getting there by bus: There are regular bus services from Kyle Harbour Slipway to Aros and they take just over 1 hour. There are also regular bus services from Inverness and Fort William. Getting there by aeroplane: From Inverness Airport follow join the A96 towards Inverness to the west. Through Inverness follow signs for the A82 which will take you to the A87 at GlenMoriston. Follow signs for Skye Bridge, Kyle of Lochalsh and, after having crossed the Skye Bridge, for Portree. Allow three hours. Aros is the first building on the left hand side just before you reach the 30mph speed limit outside Portree. Getting there by ferry: The ferry runs from Mallaig to Armadale. Once you reach Armadale head north on the A851 to join the A87 at Broadford. Continue north following signs for Portree.
