    Arran is a spectacular island - rugged peaks fall straight into the sheltered waters of the Clyde and rolling hills provide the balance, which makes Arran a wonderful natural playground.

    Advance reservations can be made by contacting the centre on 01770 302 244 Our Adventure Activities are available throughout the year but some are dependent on the season and weather conditions. Groups are always welcome to book private sessions and events. There is something about adventure activities which brings everyone together, provides a valuable shared experience and gives you plenty to talk about in the bar that evening!
    Families Most of our Adventure Activities are suitable for children from 6 years and up, although we do ask that a responsible adult accompany them.
    Time out for parents! Unaccompanied teenagers (13-18 years) are welcome to book on to sessions at the "U Teen" rate.

    Getting there from the TIC:-
    Adventure Centre - Turn right out of the pier and walk for approx 2 minutes. The centre is located in Bilsland's Café/Shop.
    Adventure@Auchrannie Cabin - Turn right out of the pier. Continue along the shore road, bearing to the right until you see a brown tourist sign for "Auchrannie Spa Resort". Turn up this turning and follow the signs. Adventure@Auchrannie is located at the rear of the sports hall.

    Road Directions

    To Ardrossan Harbour:

    From Glasgow: the coastal A78 via Largs; the A737 via Beith; or the A736 via Irvine.

    From Northern Ireland: from Stranraer A77 and A78 main coastal roads

    From England: Leave the M74 at J8 for the A71 through Kilmarnock and A78 near Irvine. Follow brown tourist signs for Arran Ferry. An alternative route is through Dumfries and the A75/A76 but although shorter in distance, it takes longer as it is mostly single-carriageway with few passing places

    Ardrossan-Brodick (55 minutes)
    Claonaig-Lochranza (30 minutes)
    Tarbert-Lochranza (One sailing per day in winter) (1 hour 25 minutes)

    Foot passengers do not have to book tickets in advance; however, vehicles should be booked in advance. Vehicles can also be left in the secure car park at Ardrossan Harbour. There is also a ferry link between Lochranza and Claonaig. This is a much smaller ferry, and the crossing takes 30 minutes. No advance reservations, just turn up and wait.
