Barguillean's "Angus Garden"

Nine acre woodland garden around an eleven acre loch set in the Glen Lonan hills.

Angus’ Garden is a picturesque 9 acre woodland garden set around an 11 acre loch in the Glen Lonan hills.

The garden was created in memory of Angus Macdonald who was killed in Cyprus in 1956. His mother Betty wanted to create a memorial to him, and since then the site has grown to include spring flowering shrubs and bulbs and an extensive collection of rhododendron hybrids. The site also includes deciduous azaleas, conifers and unusual trees and is considered an ideal spot for contemplation and meditation.

The garden contains a large collection of North American rhododendron hybrids from famous contemporary plant breeders. It offers visitors stunning views across to Ben Cruachan and Glen Etive.

Three waymarked walks have been created through the garden, which last from between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours.
