At the Pier, beside the pontoons in Kyleakin, is the Bright Water Visitor Centre. This interactive centre introduces the local and natural history of the area. One of the highlights of a visit to Bright Water Visitor Centre is the otters. Learn all about the Eilean Ban Otters and book a boat tour or visit to the island to spot some yourself.
Visit the Gavin Maxwell Longroom Museum, home to an exhibition on the remarkable Scotsman and celebrated writer, Gavin Maxwell. Most famous for his book ‘Ring of Bright Water’, explore the life of a man who through his writing was able to open the eyes of many to the wild beauty of the Highlands, and captivate still more with the stories of the life he shared with his otters.
