No visit to Arran is complete without exploring Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park - a perfect combination of heritage, nature and relaxation.
The quintessential Victorian Highland estate, Brodick Castle, Garden & Country Park on the Isle of Arran is the perfect place for a family day out.
Dramatically set against the backdrop of Goat Fell Mountain, the grand castle has stunning views over Brodick Bay to the Firth of Clyde. The grounds and surroundings are worthy of a visit alone – from the landscaped gardens to the woodland trails, wildlife ponds and waterfalls, there’s plenty to explore outdoors in Britain’s only island country park. Brodick Castle is packed full of treasures too – it’s renowned for its impressive collections of period furniture, silverware, porcelain, paintings and sporting trophies.
Since 1987, the caste has featured on the reverse side of twenty pound notes issued by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
There have been many supernatural stories associated with Borodick Castle including the sightings of a grey lady and tales of a white hart that foreshadows the death of an old clan chief.
