Claymoddie Garden

Parks & Gardens

Whithorn, Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire, DG8 8LX

Claymoddie Garden is a romantic garden with a backdrop of mature trees designed by the owner, an enthusiastic plantsman, and developed over the past 40 years.

The gardens’ imaginative hard and soft landscaping provide a wide range of settings, both shady and sunny, for a mass of meticulously placed plants, both old favourites and exotic species, all helped by the proximity of the Gulf Stream.

Running through the lower part of the garden is the burn which feeds the pond. There are changes in levels, but most of the garden is accessible to wheelchairs.

Claymoddie is open between March and September on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm to 5pm, or by arrangement on request.
