Colvend Golf Club

Golf Courses

Sandyhills, Dalbeattie, Dumfries And Galloway, DG5 4PY

Widely regarded as ‘Scotland’s friendliest club’ Colvend is a course you’ll want to play again and again and again.

This pleasantly testing parkland course provides enjoyable variety and a degree of quirkiness that makes it one of the area’s most popular golfing experiences.

Designed by architect Willie Fernie in 1905 the course is perfectly designed for its location, situated on the beautiful Solway coastline, a stone’s throw from Championship Southerness  in an area known as the Scottish Riviera.

With spectacular cliff top views across to the Cumbrian Fells and Isle of Man, ancient native trees lining the course, wildlife visitors that include otters, deer and red squirrels and attractive water hazards; Colvend’s superb repeat playability and excellent facilities make it a must visit.

    Course Highlight

The 18th has featured as one of the most picturesque holes in Scotland. A par 4 dog leg, this is a hole that demands accuracy on the fairway, with a green protected by a burn to the front and side, and surrounded by trees and a pond at the rear.  The 12th is also a course feature, needing a long drive and a well struck shot over water to a contoured green.

    Perfect Partners

Like Colvend, Kirkcudbright and Dumfries and County both offer great golf, excellent hospitality and plenty of on-course golfing adventures.
