If you'd like to visit a remote, tranquil wildlife haven, and enjoy the chance to see birds of prey such as hen harriers and merlins, this is the place to come. It's now home to one of the highest densities of breeding curlews in Europe, as well as the occasional short-eared owl, so you have a good chance of seeing something special.

Information for dog owners
This nature reserve is important for wildlife and is also a working farm. RSPB Scotland welcomes responsible access, in line with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. As this is a working farm we request that dogs are not brought to the reserve. If you do bring your dog please keep your dog close to you, preferably on a short lead and avoid areas with livestock. The livestock here are doing an important job, creating the ideal conditions for rare and threatened wildlife.
