Cowglen is very much part of a successful group of popular Glasgow courses, with interesting variation and some deceptively tricky challenges.
It's a reasonably short course but you still have to play well to score. Although it is built around a hill, it is not hilly. There are, however, several good holes that take advantage of the elevations. The eighth is a par five and standing on the tee on a good day you can see much of Glasgow with the green way below - a hole to unleash your meanest drive on. Cowglen's greens are quite small and in the summer they can become quite difficult as the balls will readily bounce and run on.
Inland, 18 holes, 6,053 yards, SSS 69, Par 70
