Get a fascinating insight into over 150 years of Creetown's history through a large collection of photographs, artefacts, audio and video presentations and hands-on activities.
The museum tells the story of the Creetown granite quarries and in the War Room you can see how the villagers lived through two world wars. There is the unique 'church in a railway carriage' and a natural history section which shows CCTV of the region’s red squirrels and peregrine falcons. With much more besides, Creetown Heritage Museum represents a great day out.
Nearby the Balloch Wood Project has created footpaths through the local woodland. The walks vary from two to four miles and many of them start a mere 400 yards from the museum. As you explore the unspoilt woodlands, keep your eyes peeled for red squirrels and other wildlife.
