Cruachan the Hollow Mountain Power Station is hidden deep within the mountain of Ben Cruachan on the shores of Loch Awe.
Cruachan visitor centre offers guided tours inside the hollow mountain providing an experience like no other. Discover the wonders of an underground world on a spectacular scale.
Just a short distance from Oban, visitors can discover one of the hidden wonders of the highlands; power station buried one kilometre below the ground.
A short coach journey will transport you into the mountain and at its centre lies a massive cavern which is high enough to house the Tower of London. Within the cavern, enormous turbines convert the power of water into electricity.
The experience continues above the surface in a visitor centre with many things to see and do, including interactive touch screens, allowing visitors the chance to find out how the power station operates and demonstrates the way in which power will be generated well into the future.
