Cruck Cottage

Overview

A luxury retreat for two in Highland Perthshire. Cruck Cottage at Dull is a 17th century single storey Cruck construction cottage, completely renovated to a high standard with a contemporary interior, but retaining the original Cruck beams and character.

The cottage features solid oak floors throughout, an open plan sitting room/kitchen with wood burning stove, quality granite worktops and kitchen fittings. The rooms are light and airy, the bedroom has a Velux roof window (with remote controlled blind) enabling star-gazing from the king size bed, which is furnished with top quality linen and quilts. The bathroom features Italian tiling, under floor heating, power shower, double ended bath and a heated towel rail.

Facilities at the cottage include duvet, bed linen and towels, full central heating, log burner, initial supply of wood & kindling, SKY TV, DVD & CD player, iPod dock & speaker system, Arran Aromatics toiletries, hair dryer, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge & freezer, microwave. The landscaped garden has a patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ and views towards Glen Lyon and Ben Lawers and across the upper reaches of the Tay Valley.

There is a cafe within approx. 100 yards, open all year for breakfast, snacks and light lunches. Further afield there is a wide range of eating possibilities in Aberfeldy, Kenmore and beyond. Walking, cycling, water sports, golf, horse riding, fishing are all available close by as well as visitor attractions such as Castle Menzies, the Crannog centre, Dewar's World of Whisky, Highland Safaris (our neighbours), to name but a few. There’s loads to see and do locally and this part of Perthshire is also an ideal base for exploring further afield with many of Scotland's iconic destinations (e.g. Glen Coe, St. Andrew's, Edinburgh Castle) just a day trip away. There are also many local artists in the area, ranging from horn carvers to chocolate makers, so you'll be spoiled for choice finding that unique souvenir of your stay (though the chocolate may not last long!!).
