Dalmilling Golf Course

Overview

Dalmilling Municipal Golf Course situated on the outskirts of Ayr is an 18-hole parkland course. Set between the famous Racecourse and the A77, this is, as they say, honest and open parkland that plays away from the clubhouse and dips into a rolling valley.

The River Ayr borders the southern end of the course, with some of its tributary burns adding interest to the early holes, especially the sixth, a 135 yard par three that is virtually surrounded by water. Playing here you are aware that you are in the heart of "Burns Country", where the famous poet Robert Burns was born and raised.

Nearby attractions. Non-golfers can enjoy miles of sandy beaches, interspersed with parts of rocky outcrops, where seals can bask at low tide. With spectacular views and sunsets, the Firth of Clyde, the Isle of Arran and Ailsa Craig (a bird sanctuary) enjoy mild weather due to the West Coast Gulf Stream.

Turnberry, Burns Cottage and Tam O'Shanter Experience, Culzean Castle, Dundonald Castle, Royal Troon Golf Course, Old Prestwick Golf Course, Ayr Racecourse, Ayr Low Green, Craigie Estate and Rozelle Estate are all in close proximity. The Carrick Hills or Galloway Forrest offers hiking or biking opportunities for outdoors experiences.
