    This visitor centre is located on the hillside next to the Doune Broch, one of the best preserved Iron Age brochs in Scotland.

    The Doune Broch Visitor Centre is found close to a large sea loch on the Isle of Lewis, and aims to promote the understanding of this magnificent structure.

    One of the best preserved of its kind in Scotland, the origin of Doune Broch and its precise use is still not clear.

    The visitor centre houses The Chamber Scenes from the Broch display, and fascinating interpretation boards which explore the broch’s history and its importance to the local community throughout history.

    The visitor centre comprises of a gift shop which sells local crafts and other gift items, and toilet facilities.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- From Stornoway Airport, follow the A866 into the town of Stornoway. Make your way through the town and follow the signs for the A859 till you come to the junction at Leurbost, branch of to the right and follow the signs for the A858 till you reach the village of Doune. Branch off the main road to the left where you see the signs for the centre.

    Getting there by ferry:- From Stornoway Ferry Terminal, follow the signs for the A859 till you come to the junction at Leurbost. Branch off to the right and follow the signs for the A858 till you reach the village of Doune. Branch off to the left where you see the signs for the visitor centre.
