The renovation of the Walled Garden has restored the Dunskey Estate to its original beauty and splendour.
These woodland gardens are probably at their best in late spring and early summer when the rhododendrons bloom beside carpets of bluebells and other wild flowers. In autumn exotic flowers flourish in the glasshouses and in late winter the carpet of snowdrops brighten the shorter days.
Explore the Walled Garden using the wide gravel paths and broad lawns to admire the mature shrubs and both familiar and unusual plants before uncovering the jewel of the estate, the 19th-century glasshouses which showcase peaches, nectarines, grapes and exotics.
See if you can find your way out of the hedge maze, believed to be the first to be planted in south west Scotland. The charming tearoom at the entrance to the gardens serves delicious lunches and home baking, while a shop offers a selection of plants for sale.
