Eda Frandsen offers the finest traditional sailing in the Western Isles of Scotland.

Join us for an unforgettable sailing holiday onboard our beautiful 56ft gaff cutter and experience a real sense of ‘getting away from it all’. Combine some of the finest sailing grounds with spectacular scenery, abundant bird and marinelife, fantastic food and great company for a truly memorable sailing adventure.

We specialise in hands-on traditional sailing combining the simplicity and beauty of a bygone era with today’s modern comforts. Experience the feeling of freedom on our beautiful 56ft gaff cutter and enjoy the blend of grace, character and seaworthiness that makes Eda Frandsen unique. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned seafarer, our voyages are suitable for all. With no experience necessary, we welcome individuals, couples and fun loving groups of up to eight friends or family. Whole boat charter is also available. You can enjoy short breaks or six to ten day sailing adventures.

We aim to provide an enjoyable, relaxing and sociable atmosphere onboard combined with a great sailing adventure and a chance to explore new remote locations. Safe in a secluded anchorage after a great sail, why not step ashore, indulge in a hot shower or enjoy a great book and glass of wine as the sun sets over the horizon.

Explore the best of sailing in Scotland. Based from Mallaig we regularly visit the remote Outer Hebrides, Small Isles or Skye. On longer voyages, perhaps sail to the dramatic archipelago of St Kilda. This is a chance to enjoy a wilderness holiday like no other. Combine great walking, abundant bird and marine life or join us for a voyage of whisky appreciation, visiting local distilleries and sampling a wee dram!

Eda Frandsen was built in Denmark in 1938, starting life fishing for lobsters. She was rebuilt and refitted as a charter vessel between 1991-96 to combine her natural seaworthiness and reliability with romance and tradition. Beautifully kept and maintained, the level of craftsmanship and detail is first class, with original features and unique detail.
