    The Edinburgh Playhouse is the largest theatre in the whole of the UK, and hosts the top touring musicals from Broadway and the West End.     What's on this Autumn and Winter


    Mack and Mabel - Tuesday 11th to Saturday 21st November

    Starring Michael Ball - this wonderful musical is set in the 1920s, and tells the true, heartbreaking  story of movie mogul Mack Sennett and his muse Mabel Normand. Featuring an outstanding score from Jerry Herman, and all the excitement and glamour of the silent movie era, this is must for any lover of the classic Broadway musical.

    Glitz, Blitz and 70s Hitz - Tuesday 1st December

    Legendary British Rock band 'Sweet', Mud 2 and the Rubettes join forces for a night of glam rock.


    The Magic of Motown -Wednesday 2nd December 

    Britain's biggest Motown spectacular returns with an all new, all star show. Featuring the music of the Four Tops, Supremes, Temptations, Jackson 5 and many more.

    Beyond the Barricade - Thursday 4th December

    This has delighted audiences for more than a decade with its exciting concert portrayal of the greatest songs in musical theatre allo performed totally live.


    Priscilla, Queen of the Desert  - Tuesday 15th December to Sunday 3rd January

    The unbelievebly happy, extravagant tale of three men and a bus! This is the show which will have you tapping along as we 'Go West', bop along to 'Hot Stuff' and prove that 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun'. Starring Jason Donovan and Gavin Mitchell (Boaby from 'Still Game').




    Step out onto the stage of the Edinburgh Playhouse, go behind the scenes into the secret world of backstage, smell the greasepaint, hear about our resident ghost and learn all about our beautiful theatre! A truly unique Edinburgh experience. A fantastic opportunity to step on stage, go up to the fly floor for a bird’s eye view of the stage and much, much more! Tours are available on selected Saturdays and midweek matinee mornings for a number of upcoming shows at The Edinburgh Playhouse. Tours begin at 10.30am and last approximately 90 minutes.
