Fasach - Gillen circuit
Cycle Routes
A quiet, short (5 mile) loop on the Waternish peninsula.
Frrom the junction on the B886 at Fasach (shown as "Stein" on the Ordnance Survey map) follow the single track road north to the Geary junction, turn right and continue to the Gillen junction, turn right again and follow the road to the end where it turns into a forestry track/road. Follow the path uphill and over the top to come back down the road to join the B886 where you started. There are numerous forestry tracks to extend the distance of this trail. This route has great views over The Minch to the Outer Isles, with opportunities to spot a variety of birdlife including sea eagles. Red deer can often be seen in the forestry. It also passes the broch Dun Hallin which is up the hill off the road after the turn off to Geary.
