Gartmorn Dam Country Park Sauchie, Alloa, Clackmannanshire, FK10 1EB

Formed from the woodlands of Alva House Estate, the park provides a network of public footpaths and is suitable for many outdoor activities.

Visit Gartmorn Dam Country Park for a retreat that is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing or horse riding. Get around with an extensive path network throughout the ‘Wee Country’ linking the park to local communities. Car parking and play area also available.

Within the 370 acre park stands the 18th century Ice House and the brick walls of the 19th century kitchen garden. The nearby Gartmore Dam spans 170 acres and was engineered by Sir John Erskine, the 6th Earl of Mar, to power the pumps which drained his Sauchie mines.

The surrounding area also supports a diverse range of wildlife and has been deemed a ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’ because of the wildfowl that migrate to Gartmorn in winter months. You’ll find a bird hide and viewing screens to see these birds up close, while you can also spot woodpeckers, roe deer, wild hare and even red squirrels in the woodland areas.
