    Each and every hole of this stunning 9 hole course in the beautiful Fleet Valley rewards with challenge and with visual appeal.

    Always in good condition, Gatehouse of Fleet golf course is a good 9 hole test, with views from most of the holes of Wigtown Bay, the Clints of Dromore and the massif of Cairnsmore of Fleet.  This is a good year round course with no winter greens, and spring and autumn are seasonal highlights due to the visual impact of the scenery. 


    Pre booking is not necessary and the course enjoys excellent availability and accessibility, however tee times are not available on Sunday mornings until after 12pm. Golfing parties are welcome.


    The clubhouse facilities are modest with no catering, however there is a good selection of cafes, bars and hotels in the village of Gatehouse of Fleet itself.


    Course Highlight

    The 9th is listed amongst Britain’s 100 Extraordinary Golf Holes.  This par 3 requires accuracy as you hit over gorse from an elevated tee with a stunning view out to the Irish Sea.

    Public Transport Directions

    Getting there by railway:- From Dumfries: Follow A75 towards Stranraer, past Castle Douglas. Gatehouse is on right hand side.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- From Prestwick: Travel to Ayr and then on to A713 to Castle Douglas (approx 50 miles). Shortly before Castle Douglas, join A75 towards Stranraer. Gatehouse is 10 miles along A75.

    Getting there by ferry:- From Cairnryan: Follow A77 onto the A75 towards Dumfries and Carlisle. Gatehouse is approx 40 miles along this road on left hand side.
