    This incredible store for the museums' collections when they are not on display at the city’s venues is free to visit, though visits must be booked in advance.

    The rooms of this vast building are full of fascinating objects, from animals to armour, fine art to fossils and much more.

    The main collections stored at the resource centre are archaeology, art and painting, arms and armour, natural history, transport and technology and world cultures.

    All in all, there are around 1.4million objects at the Glasgow Museum Resource Centre. In most museums, a tiny proportion of objects are on display at any one time.

    It is free to visit the GMRC, but all visits must be booked in advance.
