Glenwhan Gardens

Parks & Gardens

Glenwhan House, Dunragit, Stranraer, Dumfries & Galloway, DG9 8PH

Glenwhan has been cultivated over two decades from bog, rushes and gorse to win accolades as one of the best new gardens of recent times.

The warming effects of the Gulf Stream mean that exotic and tender plants from around the southern hemisphere flourish at Glenwhan, as do large collections of rare trees and shrubs. Two small lochs are the focal point of these family-run gardens which boast magnificent views across Luce Bay and to the Mull of Galloway.

The tearoom prides itself on its delicious home baking and tasty homemade soups, the secret to the great tasting soups being the home-grown vegetables and use of fresh locally-sourced produce wherever possible.
