Greenbank Garden

Parks & Gardens

The National Trust For Scotland, Flenders Road, Off Mearns Road, Clarkston, City Of Glasgow, G76 8RB

Greenbank Garden is a tranquil celebration of the gardener’s art in the grounds of a Grade-A listed Georgian house.

From mini-orchards to explosions of snowdrops, Greenbank is a delight through the seasons. Find ideas, techniques and inspiration for your own garden and enjoy the ornamental pools and fountains. Take a woodland walk and enjoy the soaring beeches and chattering waters.

Greenbank House gives a glimpse into the life of Robert Allason and his family. Allason was an 18th-century tobacco lord in the days when Glasgow was the second city of the British Empire. The house has remained virtually unchanged since it was built.

Some of the daffodil varieties cultivated by Allason have yet to be properly identified and classified.
