Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse is one of Scotland’s finest Edwardian mansionhouses, and is home to an amazing collection of furniture, antiques and paintings.
The original 17th century house was remodelled in 1906 by Sir Robert Lorimer to showcase the French, Chippdendale-style and locally influenced furniture of the wealthy jute manufacturer who lived there.
Surrounding the house are 279 acres of gardens, woods, open heath and parkland. Lorimer also designed the garden, with formal lawns, yew hedging, colourful borders and a sunken rose garden.
Within the grounds, the 9-hole Kingarrock Hickory Golf Course has recently been reinstated giving golfers the chance to play the game as it was many years ago.
