    Hopetoun House, Scotland's finest stately home, is an important part of European architectural heritage situated in South Queensferry, outside Edinburgh.

    Home of the Marquess of Linlithgow, Hopetoun is one of the most splendid examples of the work of Scottish architects Sir William Bruce and William Adam. In 1974 Hopetoun House Preservation Trust was founded to preserve the House and grounds for the benefit of the nation.

    Open daily to the public from Easter to the end of September, Hopetoun is also available on an exclusive basis for all types of private and corporate hospitality.

    Hopetoun is open 7 days per week from Good Friday until the last Sunday in September. 10.30am - 5pm (last admission 4pm).

    2pm daily introductory tour with House Guide available.

    Public Transport Directions

    Getting there by railway:- From Dalmeny Station, turn left along Station Road until the end. Turn left, then first right, following road until you are at junction under Forth Road Bridge. Continue straight ahead through housing area along shore road.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- From Edinburgh Airport take the A8 west to the Newbridge roundabout, then the M9. Take first slip road left A8000 and carry on until almost at the Forth Bridge. Follow signs for 'Hopetoun House' leading through South Queensferry, through a housing area and along the shore road.
