The Floral Hall, Gardens and Café is a unique visitor attraction that offers a tranquil break amidst beautiful floral displays. It was opened in 1993 by Prince Edward and has been inspiring local gardeners and visitors from every continent ever since. Our climatically controlled hothouse features winding pathways along which you can discover a superb array of subtropical plants, a cascading waterfall and a pool full of friendly Koi Carp. The adjoining Cactus House shows an award winning range of cacti and succulents with many specimens provided and maintained by the Inverness Cactus & Succulent Society. The outdoor garden, which is sheltered by a large stone wall, presents innovative colourful displays including mixed trees and shrubs, heathers, herbs, seasonal and mixed plantings all within a fine range of raised and ground level beds. Younger ones will be sure to find, hidden among the shrubs, the teddy bears, mole and tortoise – superb examples of chainsaw carvings. Further along the pathways, past lawns and shrubs, you will come upon a large rockery are flanked by the colourful cottage garden and wild flower plantings. In our plant sales areas you will find a small but attractive range of indoor and outdoor plants that are priced low to ensure excellent value. Some of the plants are grown by our staff and some by the trainees on our Garden Project for Adults With Learning Disabilities. As a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation, the money from our sales is used to offset costs and to keep our admission charges as low as they are. The café is adjacent to our Reception and is operated by Cobb’s who are well known for their great value refreshments and light lunches. The Floral Hall is also an ideal venue to hire for wedding photography and evening wedding ceremonies and we also have a meeting room for daily hire which is ideal for meetings and training sessions for up to thirteen people. The Floral Hall is a truly unique and wonderful place and is a must see for any visitor to Inverness.
