John Buchan is one of Scotland's most famous authors, chiefly remembered for The Thirty Nine Steps.

He was also a prodigious writer of other material, as well as becoming Governor General of Canada. This centre tells the story of John Buchan through fascinating artifacts, surrounding by the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside that he loved.

Summer Season 1 April to 31 October Monday to Saturday.10.00 am to 1.00 pm. Admission:Free – although a donation is appreciated! Outwith these times, we are happy to open the Museum for individuals or groups (up to 30 people). Winter Season 1 November to 31 March. We especially welcome groups in the winter months and can customise your visit to your particular interests.
