Johnstons of Elgin has been creating the finest woollen and cashmere cloth, clothing and accessories since 1797.
Johnston’s of Elgin Heritage Centre is a beautiful and historic site which has been manufacturing for over 200 years. The Mill in Elgin is the only mill in Scotland to transform raw cashmere from fibre to finished article.
At the mill visitors can take a free guided mill tour of the manufacture process and explore the 216 year history of Johnston Cashmere. Discover secrets of the trade and the history of Scottish cashmere in the visitor centre in the beautiful Courtyard setting, adjacent to the Mill Shop.
Each season the design team creates exciting collections of fabrics, knitwear and accessories for ladies and men as well as for the home. You can find a fantastic range of Johnston’s cashmere, lamb’s wool and tweed direct from our flagship mill. Visit the Home Interiors Room, offering our latest home interiors fabric collection along with a wide selection of tweed fabrics; all supported with a dedicated interior design advisory service.
Relax in the coffee shop, or take a stroll around the grounds or enjoy a sumptuous meal of locally sourced food in the restaurant.
