Largs

Overview

The battle - fought partly at sea and then on land as a storm drove Haakon's galleys ashore - was won by the Scots after two days of hard fighting. The victory meant that control of the Hebrides and the Isle of Man was eventually ceded from Norway to Scotland.

At Vikingar! the history of the Vikings in Scotland, including the Battle of Largs, is depicted using multi-media.
