For around 30 years Penny Weir has produced and sold her earthenware pottery in her small showroom and workshop situated on the road to Loch an Eilein on Rothiemurchus Estate in the Cairngorms National Park. Made from hand thrown red clay and glazed in blue, green and turquoise hues, Penny’s range of domestic ware includes jugs, pitchers, mugs, garlic pots, noodle bowls and vases.
‘Throw your own’ sessions are available for those who want to try their hand throwing their own clay pot on Thursdays. Penny also offers a three hour workshop session for 3-6 people, and a weekend course, usually in March, occasionally in October.
The Pottery is open 10-5, late March to late October, by appointment - or by chance if you are passing!
