Loch Leven RSPB is part of Loch Leven National Nature Reserve. The loch is famous for its connections to Mary Queen of Scots and as Scotland’s largest lowland freshwater loch.
Loch Leven supports a huge waterfowl population including the largest concentration of breeding freshwater ducks in Britain. Look out for ospreys in the summer and around 20,000 pink footed geese in winter.
The visitor centre offers information and help on bird identification with binoculars and wildlife explorer rucksacks for children. There is a café which serves delicious local and ethical food and has a great view over Loch Leven.
There are walking trails with fantastic viewpoints and three hides where you can get closer to nature.
