    Inverclyde has a rich and diverse heritage which has contributed hugely to Scotland's culture and traditions. At the Museum you can explore this wonderful heritage. 

    In addition to a wonderful grade A listed Victorian museum there is a modern art gallery, lots of great collections to see and a temporary exhibition programme.  We provide FREE internet access.

    We also have a museum shop that carries a wide range of competitively priced items from around the world for those looking for that special gift. There are books, cards, toys, museum standard replicas, decorative and craft items. 

    There are also books with photographs of Old Kilmacolm, Old Port Glasgow, Largs, Cumbrae and many other locations in the Clyde area.

    The shop also sells a range of books, postcards and greetings cards with local history subjects as well as framed prints of nineteenth century views of Greenock, Port Glasgow and Gourock.

    The Museum Shop is open from 10.00am to 4.45p.m. Monday to Saturday. The shop accepts payment in cash or by cheque in sterling.

    Road Directions

    The Museum does not have its own parking area, but there is a reserved space for disabled parking. It may be possible to park in either Kelly Street or Union Street. Coaches may load and unload and may sometimes be able to park in Kelly Street.

    The McLean is situated near the centre of Greenock and can be easily reached from the bus station (5 minutes) or from Greenock West railway station (10 minutes).
