Musselburgh Racecourse is located only 6 miles to the east of Edinburgh city centre and serviced by excellent public transport links. All access routes are well signposted. Musselburgh Racecourse is to the eastern side of Musselburgh and less than 1 mile from the A1 and less than 2 miles from the A720 Edinburgh City ByPass.
Free car and coach parking is available close to the racecourse and within an easy walk, or board our courtesy raceday bus which operates from Wallyford Park and Ride by the train station.
The Racecourse opens between 2 and 2.5 hours before the first race. If you have booked hospitality or a special package, we recommend arriving at the racecourse for the 'gates opening' time and at least 1 hour before the first race to allow sufficient time to enjoy your meal before the racing starts.
Traffic is generally very busy so please allow extra time for your journey.

Lothian Buses Services 26, 44, 113 or 124. Disembark at the stop by the Police Station in Musselburgh and it is then a short walk to the course.

The nearest train station to Musselburgh Racecourse is Wallyford Station on the Edinburgh Waverley to North Berwick train line.
A courtesy raceday bus operates from Wallyford Park and Ride (240 metres from the Station Platform) to the Racecourse, timed to meet trains from Edinburgh and from North Berwick and also operates at the end of the racing.

Free car and coach parking is available close to the racecourse. Follow the signage to Musselburgh Racecourse and then signs direct to the public car park, located just off Balcarres Road.
Guests can be dropped off outside the Main Entrance before taking the short drive to the car park. It is only a 5 minute walk to the main entrance or board the courtesy Raceday Shuttle Bus which operates between the car park and the racecourse.
Disabled Visitor Parking
There is a designated disabled parking area within 200 metres of the main entrance. To access this car park, please display a disabled persons parking permit and the vehicle must contain the disabled person named on the permit.
