How to get to Nanyuki for your bike adventure

We want you to enjoy the journey to Ross-shire and the North West Highlands. It can and should be a marvellous and memorable journey…
….. and you should relish it as an important part of your holiday.
We want you to be able to get to Nanyuki by public transport and there are several options which might suit you.

    By Air to Inverness… then
    • shuttle to Inverness rail station
    • Train via the picturesque Highland Line to Kyle of Lochalsh
    • met and transported to Drumbuie (by Boardman or car) or, even more interestingly,
    • request the train to stop at Duirinish station, about 3 miles before Kyle, and simply walk the last 500 metres to Nanyuki!

total cost around £140-150 return, if you book early, from Manchester or London Gatwick

it is also possible to fly to Inverness from Birmingham, Exeter, Newquay, Norwich and Southampton but note these flights may not necessarily connect with the last train or bus to Kyle of Lochalsh and might be more expensive.
Another leisurely option would be an extra nights stay in Inverness and catch the train the following morning. This might be your only option if you want to take advantage of the cheap fares from Birmingham, say.

    By Train to Fort William
    • reasonable service from Glasgow and Edinburgh
    • transfer to bus at Fort William station for Kyle ( approx 2 hours)
    • met and transported to Drumbuie (by Boardman or car)
    By Car
Drumbuie is reached by a four hour drive north from Glasgow. The journey will take you up the banks of Loch Lomond, through Glen Coe and north from Fort William through the Great Glen and past Eilean Donan castle. The route is picturesque but busy in summer and can be frustrating at peak times.

Come by car by all means…
… but if you are going to come by car you may as well put your own bikes on the carrier and stay where you please. Note it is unlikely we will be able to give discounts on the prices quoted if you bring your own bikes.
So take the doctor’s advice; leave the car at home and enjoy a proper holiday - choose travel option 1 or 2!
and remember to book your travel early
