New Galloway Golf Club

Golf Courses

High Street, New Galloway, Castle Douglas, Dumfries And Galloway, DG7 3RN

One of the most scenic inland courses in Scotland, with stunning views over Loch Ken and towards the Galloway Hills.

Nature is the star of New Galloway Golf Club.  The par 68 upland course climbs from a woodland setting up to the first and second fairway to open moorland, and its location provides rewarding views of the Galloway landscape, with occasional glimpses of wildlife visitors such as red squirrel, red deer, hares and red kite.

This is a course that invites flexible playing, with tight but fair fairways, stone dyke hazards and some of the finest greens in the area.  An excellent year-round golf course with spectacular autumn colours and no winter greens.

    Course Highlight

The 5th is a tight par 4 dog leg to the right where the tee shot should cross a dry stane dyke, with the green protected on the right side by a low mound in front.  The 7th is an uphill par 3 but when you get to the green you have a superb panoramic view down Loch Ken which is so spectacular that a bench invites you to take a moment to sit and enjoy it.
