The garden at Newtonairds is a beautiful setting for the National Collection of Hosta plantaginea hybrids and cultivars, all of which have fragrant flowers.
The National Collection of fragrant flowered Hostas is integrated on a woodland bank in this one acre plantsman's garden. The exuberantly filled lower garden is punctuated with statues, topiary and a dramatic gravelled rose and clematis circle which surrounds heritage vegetable beds. A variety of home grown plants are for sale.
The garden is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays between the last Tuesday in May and the last Wednesday in August from 10.00am to 6.00pm. Entry is £4 and children under 16 are free.
