The course was moved from Polmont to the present location in Maddiston near Falkirk in 1975/1976 and measures 6, 092-yards, SSS 69, Par 72 from the white tees.
Polmont Golf Course is locally regarded as a tight, tricky parkland style course which puts an emphasis on accuracy over length. Although only a nine hole course the Club has invested in building second tees on most holes which serves to alter the distance of the hole or the angle of the drive on your second loop. Nowhere is this difference highlighted better than the first/tenth. The first hole being a 136 yard short iron into the green, the tenth being a 220 yard fairway wood.
The club is fully owned and managed by the members who have operated in the Golf club business for many years. Directors are elected by the members to run the company having previously been ordinary members of the club. All members whether a Director or Ordinary member receive the same voting rights.
Polmont Golf Club has juvenile, junior, ladies, gents and senior sections of the membership, all with their own playing times allocated for weekly Medals. New members are always welcome and currently there is no waiting list, joining fee nor bar levy. Please look in the Green Fees section for more information.
There is a practice putting and chipping area in front of the clubhouse so you can warm up for your assault on what are locally regarded as tricky greens.
