Royal Lochnagar Distillery & Visitors Centre

Royal Lochnagar distillery is situated on the south side of the River Dee close to Balmoral Castle. Age old traditions and craftmanship produce one of Scotland's most exclusive whiskies. A visit to Royal Lochnagar is a timeless experience.

Neighbouring Balmoral Castle, Royal Lochnagar Distillery is the perfect place to discover how Scotch Whisky is made. Watch as our team of operators tend to our traditional mashtun, gleaming copper stills and fill casks at our tradtional distillery, which retains much of its origional charm. Each tour will end with a dram of the award-winning Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old Single Highland Malt.

Royal Tour
£30 (including £3 off the purchase of any 70cl bottle of single malt)
A welcoming cup of coffee and homemade shortbread in the Distillery Library where you will learn the history of the distillery, followed by an in-depth tour explaining how we make our whisky from Barely to Bottle, hosted by one of our knowledgeable members of staff. After the tour there will be a very special tasting of Royal Lochnagar as well as a specially selected rare whisky.  
 

This exclusive Royal Tour takes place from Monday to Saturday at 11am for a inimum number of 2 people. Booking in advance is essential, so please contact us at royal.lochnagar.distillery@diageo.com or the visitor centre on 013397 42700.
Booking for groups of over 8 is advisable prior to any visit.

For health & safety reasons, children under 8 years old are not permitted in the production areas of the distillery.

Disabled persons including those with guide dogs and other assistance dogs are welcome at our 12 distillery visitor centres.

We will make reasonable adjustments to the distillery visitor tour that we offer at each visitor centre to ensure that disabled persons including those with guide dogs or other assistance dogs have a positive visitor experience and, above all else, remain safe.

The unique layout of each distillery location and visitor centre means that the reasonable adjustments we make at each distillery may vary.
