Overview
Rutherglen Town Hall is a unique Scottish Baronial Style building, originally constructed in 1862 with a 110ft clock tower, and is a famous local landmark. This grade A listed building has played an important part in the history and local life of the burgh of Rutherglen, on the south eastern boundary of Glasgow.
The Town Hall was re-opened in early 2005 following a £12.5 million refurbishment and is now a premier location for arts and cultural activities, exhibitions, conferencing and banqueting and weddings. State of the art audio visual facilities throughout the premises offer flexibility to host a wide range of events both private and public.
The old building meets the new in our cafe and mezzanine bar located inside a multi level glass and steel atrium.
The Grand Hall, now restored to its former glory with stained glass windows and barrel vaulted ceiling, is a striking venue for large functions with in-house lighting and sound making it an ideal location for performances.
The Tower Room and Committee Room provide excellent locations for meetings, seminars and smaller events.
Our Exhibition Hall is a large multi-purpose space, intended mainly for exhibiting works of art but also capable of hosting functions.
