Shetland Cheese Ltd

Food & Drink Attraction

Skeld Creamery, Skeld, Shetland, Shetland Islands, ZE2 9NL

Shetland Cheese Ltd is located in Skeld on the westside of Shetland, 28 miles from Lerwick. We are the UK’s most northerly producer of cheese.

Visit our creamery and you can see the cheese making process and sample the different varieties produced.

Each batch of cheese is hand-crafted using only traditional methods and the finest milk from local herds of Shetland Farm Dairies.

All cheeses are free from artificial colours and preservative, and they are also suitable for vegetarians.

We are located just half a mile from the Skeld Marina and campsite and maintain a small general store, supplying those essentials, ice cream and ofcourse cheese. We are open 5/6 days a week between April and September.

We also have an onsite cafe where you can sample freshly made snacks including our renowned Cheese Platter.

We operate cheese tours around the Creamery on cheesemaking days- taking around 45 minutes - these are priced at £3 per person and need to be pre-booked.
