Shotts Golf Course

Golf Courses

Benhar Road, Blairhead, Shotts, North Lanarkshire, ML7 5BJ

Shotts golf course is ideally situated only half an hour's drive from both Edinburgh and Glasgow and, sited approximately 800 feet above sea level, offers a stiff challenge for all.

The present layout of Shotts was developed in 1936 by James Braid and took until 1949 to complete. Shotts was founded in 1895 and has relocated twice since that time. On a clear day the views stretch from Tinto in Lanarkshire to Loudon hill in Ayrshire. The club has a surfeit of up and coming talent with some six Scottish boys and youth international caps in recent years. Visitors should beware 'The Devils Elbow', Shotts' notorious 409-yard fourth hole is by far the most challenging hole on the course.

    Inland, 18 holes, 6,205 yards, SSS 0, Par 70
