This is one of the best courses on offer on Scotland's islands. It is a seaside parkland course that is moderately tight in parts, so anything less than a decent shot may find trouble.
One of the many benefits of playing golf in Orkney is that 'joy' of having to arrive at the golf club at 6.30am to book a slot on the first tee later that day at either 10.27am or 3.26pm is one that we are unfamiliar with. Here, we prefer the method of 'turning up and playing' and so no such booking of tee times is used. No need to worry about packed courses and 6 hour rounds either, here a fourball go round in less than 3 hours usually!
The only days which you may not get a game are on the weekends which host the larger club competitions (see Fixture List for details) and it can also be busy on weekday evenings when members competitions are taking place.
All weekday mornings and afternoons are definitely available for visitors to play.
Hire clubs are available from the greenkeeper.
Stromness also welcomes larger group bookings, please contact the secretary: email@example.com for more details.

The main competition in the Stromness golfing calendar is undoubtedly the Stromness Open, which, for the last 25 years or so, has attracted an entry list of up to 132 from all over the UK, with some even making the trip from Kenya, Canada, South African and Australia. It is easily one of the most popular courses off the Scottish mainland and boasts wonderful views of Scapa Flow.
