A beautiful inland layout beside the River Tay. The imposing castle and surrounding hills provide an elegant setting for golf. The castle itself dates back to 1502, although it has had considerable work done to it since these early days.
The course is typical of its designer, James Braid, as surprises pop up here, there and everywhere, so unwitting are easily caught out. The opening holes at first appear straightforward, but there are blind shots to contend with and burns that meander across the fairway before the green and within driving distance from the tee. Some of the tallest Douglas Fir trees in the world surround the golf course.
