    The North Ayrshire Heritage Centre, formerly North Ayrshire Museum, is found in Saltcoats on the south west coast of Scotland.

     North Ayrshire Heritage Centre brings together all aspects of the area's rich history under one roof.  Here you will find museum artefacts, a local history library,  archives and a genealogy service.  Items on permanent display include a 13th century carved stone sarcophagus, fossilised tree trunks, part of a stone celtic cross and a hand operated fire cart. There is also a programme of temporary exhibitions  throughout the year.

    Getting there by railway:- Exit Saltcoats station, turn right on to Main Road. Keep walking to crest of hill.  The Heritage Centre is on left hand side before the Sainsbury supermarket.
